Who is St. Patrick? - St. Patrick is a saint who patronizes Ireland -He is praised as a man who brought Christianity to Ireland -Many legends are told of him -March 17 – the day of his death – is celebrated as St. Patrick’s Day

Christian Traditions: -Ascending the saint mountain “Croagh Patrick” – the legend says, that Patrick exiled all the snakes from Ireland on this mountain – it was a divine wonder. - Fastening a shamrock leaf to clothes – it symbolizes the Christian cross

Pagan and Folk Traditions: -Drinking at least one alcohol drink in an Irish pub -Putting on green clothes – as a symbol of spring, Ireland and shamrock -Festivals and parades are held in the streets
