25 INNER DETECTOR INTEGRATION: CONCLUSION C.BAULT November 9 th 2009 LAYOUT STRAWMAN 07V13 Vs STRAWMAN 07V14 This is a quick analyze of main differences between 2 layout. We have to check consequences by designing: Services on Barrel flange Stave support and SMC organization (because of 10° tilt angle) SERVICES AND STRUCTURES INVENTORY This inventory was a request from physicist to make simulation. It’s a good input to design details of services We have to complete missing datas: Micro-twinax diameter, connectors, SMC characteristic…

26 INNER DETECTOR INTEGRATION: CONCLUSION C.BAULT November 9 th 2009 ENVELOPE SERVICES Design of Pixel services is not yet done. We assume routing of them will be hard: along barrel flange, between last pixel disc and first End-Cap disc, through End Flange of OC… Clearance for End-Cap insertion is only 20mm. (had forseen 25mm) BARREL SERVICES ROUTING Assume replacement of a stave involves lots of services dismounting. Have to design other solutions (cooling manifold, distribution by layer instead quarter…) Access to connect services on SMC will be very hard. Have to work on SMC design to optimize.
