5. What is Microsoft SharePoint? SharePoint is an enterprise content and document management platform. It can be used as a secure place to store, organize, share and access information. It can be used to organize teams or automate business processes.

Why are people still excited about this product?  There are plenty of levers to pull and hooks to tap into for extending.  Client side object model (CSOM)  Javascript object model (JSOM)  Great services already exist. The ground work has already been done for me.  I can build scalable, enterprise solutions for a fraction of the time and cost of starting from scratch.

8. What is a SharePoint farm?  Database Server  Everything is stored here  Application Server  Runs middleware services  Web Front End Server  Faces and interacts with web browser client

9. What are my deployment options? On Premise Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) SharePoint Online (SaaS/PaaS) Create physical or virtual machines on site in your data center Create virtual machines in a hosted environment, like Azure or AWS. Subscribe as part of an Office 365 tenant.
