Functions of Government Provide security & for the ‘common defense’ or defense from outside attack Provide Services or for the ‘general welfare’ Keep Order: enforce laws/protect rights/ensure peace Guide the Community and maintain society’s institutions

Americans reflect many kinds of diversity American’s perform many different jobs. There is a wide range of age groups American’s come from many different countries American’s don’t have a central ‘look’: we belong to many different races American’s live in many different regions of the country
