Type in digimaps for schools into google... Digimaps for schools

In the log in section type in.... Username: fy20nh Password : gnebes84 In the search box, type in Esprick

Open up a word document

F11 makes the map bigger.

Next step.... Click on the annotations tab :: Select Aa button

Next steps.... Use the button to make the map bigger. Click on the location of Esprick, and write linear settlement Click on the grid reference button and then location of Esprick, to find the grid reference. Now print screen the finished example to the word document and crop the image (use right button on the mouse

Can you find any examples of nucleated and dispersed settlements in the map? Repeat the last few slides so that you have and example of all three settlement types.

How many other examples of linear, nucleated and dispersed settlements can you find? Create a table: Village NameMap ReferenceSettlement Pattern

How have things changed? Using the age slide, compare how the area used to look in the past (1890) what has changed?

How far is it from your house to school? Click on to make the map smaller. Type in Layton, can you find our school?

How far is it from your house to school? Zoom in…. Using the pencil tool can you draw your route to your house? You can use the cursor keys on the keyboard to move the screen and keep your line going. Double click to finish the line.

How far is it from your house to school? Using the ruler tool, click on the line, select km and this will show you how far you travel to school. Print screen this to your word document.
