Why Learn About Holiday’s? That’s how you make your moolah!! During the holiday’s, many people need designs made to celebrate an important time in their life. Your job is to help them celebrate that holiday appropriately i.e. no orange and black arrangement on Easter (unless the customer asks for it specifically)

Specific Times of Year While most holidays (religious and nonreligious) have a strong floral component to them, the following holidays are very important to the floral industry: Christmas/ New Years Easter Mother’s Day Valentine’s Day

Research Project You are going to pick a holiday, any (real) holiday we did not discuss today, and do a research project! DUE MONDAY, MAY 4 TH It MUST contain the following components: Two (2) pages, single spaced, 12 or 14pt font that’s four sides of paper An explanation of the holiday and how it came to be i.e. Why do we celebrate Christmas? Explain how flowers and floral design have played a historical and modern role in this holiday i.e. Christmas wreaths how did they come to be & how are they used today? THEN ( this is the most important part folks… ) explain how YOU would incorporate your holiday into a design. Feel free to include an image to help explain
