Emphasis Center of attention Should dominate but not over power No competing focal point

Rhythm Leads the eye from one place to another Repetition: recurring lines, color, form or texture Gradation: gradual change in repetition in size or color Transition-curvy lines Radiation-flows from a central point Opposition-lines form right angle

Unity/Variety Unity- one idea or theme Variety-objects that support a theme and add interest
