2 Chicago ’ s influence In conjunction with Saul Bellow ’ s Adventures of Augie March as a One Read One Chicago selection, this display and lecture series will show the city ’ s impact on subjects in the humanities.

3 Chicago ’ s influence Display will showcase Bellow ’ s work and also include the influence of prominent Chicagoans in these fields: –Literature –Music –Architecture

8 Lecture will also explore : Home to many gospel musicians Home to jazz musicians Prominent orchestra, opera House music and rock bands Lollapalooza and other big festivals Contemporary artists: Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco … Music

9 Lecture will cover: Chicago Fire of 1871 1893 Columbian Exposition The birth of the skyscraper (necessity due to need for space) Architecture
