Jewish people were the people who were targeted the most Approximately 6 million Jewish people died due to the fact they were Jewish Jewish people were eventually stripped of their German citizenship They were restricted from things such as cinemas, theatres, swimming pools, and resorts

Another group of people that were targeted were the Gypsies The Nuremburg Laws did not affect them but they were still deprived of certain civil rights First they were crammed into the ghettos and then they were sent to concentration and extermination camps Hundreds of thousands of Gypsies were killed during the Holocaust

Mentally and Physically disabled people were also victims of the Holocaust In 1939 a Nazi euthanasia program began This term is used as a euphemism for the Nazi plan to murder those with physical or mental defects At least a 250,000 mentally and physically disabled people were killed throughout the Holocaust

Jehovah’s Witness’ were one of the many targets as well After the Nazi rise to power their religious meetings were outlawed They continued to meet In April 1935 the group was completely banned Those who defied that rule were sent to concentration camps Casualties totaled at around 2,500 to 5,000
