Green School Workgroup Participants: students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members Green Ambassadors: volunteer facilitators who are passionate about sustainability Goals:  Learn about green and sustainable design, construction and operations at your school  Influence the design of your school  Support the Maryland Environmental Literacy Standards  Begin or expand green practices  Seek certification as a MD Green School 2

Decide what you have and want – e.g. a garden, an electricity monitor, an outdoor classroom, food education spaces Understand the design process – know when you can influence the design 3 ● Engage your design team – ask questions, tell them what you want and ask them to include your ideas ● Plan for now and the future – build your team for today and when your new school opens Teacher stipends are available for leading the Green School Award application process!
