3. What is “theme?” Theme is “THE MEssage” It is a message from the author that is: 1.an opinion about life, or human nature, or society that the writer shares with the reader. It is usually not stated directly, but must be inferred. 2.the underlying meaning or lesson of a story that the author is trying to convey to the reader.

4. Some of examples of THEME are: Acceptance Compassion Cooperation Courage Friendship Honesty Kindness Perseverance Responsibility

5. Acceptance Characters who respect and accept others differences and beliefs.

6. Compassion Characters who want to make those who are suffering feel better.

7. Characters that work together to achieve a goal or complete a task.

8. Courage Brave characters who have the strength to overcome fear or accept a risk.

10. Honesty Characters who find that it is best to always tell the truth.

11. Kindness Friendly characters who are generous and considerate of others.
