Depending on version of PowerPoint.. But in both the 2003 & 2007, the Custom Animation panel can be opened by… clicking on the animations tab choosing Custom Animation

This is a hands-on workshop…. So go ahead.. You have a couple minutes… ◦ Start up Power Point ◦ Create a slide with a title, and clip art Think about how you’d like to grab your audience’s attention with that slide

Adding Effects Timing the effect On click With or After Previous Creating a path

Type in some text on your slide Highlight it Choose Effect Choose how to start

Highlight what you’d like to animate Choose an effect

You can choose to time the entrance of individual lines of text

Now time your effect

Setting the path is under the Add Effect button, under Motion Paths. Some common ones are given, and you can draw your own.

Besides the sound effects that come with PowerPoint you can add music, other sound files, or your voice to slides. To add your voice: ◦ Click on Insert ◦ Click on Sound ◦ Record Sound

This workshop is based on version 2007 Version 2003 has Slide Schemes Version 2000 has basic abilities, but located in a different spot.

Points to keep in mind: Preset and custom animation Schemes are designed for text that's within default text placeholders—the hatchmarked boxes you see in any of the text layouts in PowerPoint. Schemes don't work for text boxes (shapes you add from the Drawing toolbar); these require custom animation. The No Animation command
