What Does Jesus Say? For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve. Matthew 20:28

What Does God Say? So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. Romans 12:5-6 He has provided everyone –Talents –Gifts –Abilities –Experiences

What Does God Say? Faith without deeds is dead. …faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:17

The church of the twenty-first century must shift its focus from an institutional orientation to a community orientation if it is to survive and thrive – Jack Dennison As a people who pride themselves in their loyalty to Scripture, how can we ignore the call to good works in the community that the Bible so emphatically exhorts us to? – Robert Lewis Are We Externally Focused?

What is an Externally Focused Church Convinced that good deeds and good news can’t and shouldn’t be separated Sees itself as vital to the health and well- being of its community Believe in ministering and serving are the normal expressions of Christian living Evangelistically effective

As an externally focused church our community will see, touch, feel and recognize the love of Jesus in all that we do. Create a cultural environment that instills in every member an attitude of service and ministry within Ridgecrest, our community and our world. What is Our Calling?

Global Missions The Global Mission Team will continue to exist and function as currently does.

The goal of the Christian life must be expanded beyond self-interests to the greater concerns of the world, not just for the sake of duty, but for the sake of life – the abundant life. The boredom and restlessness seen everywhere in the church…is due primarily to the smallness of our purpose. It’s rarely bigger than the scope of our own personal needs. – Robert Lewis
