Effective Staff Development Focuses on learning and learners Has clear goals Includes assessments to document progress Uses available resources Recognizes that change is necessary for improvement Provides on-going follow-up and support.

Effective Staff Development Every activity should include: a statement of how it relates to the mission of the school a list of intended outcomes a description of how the outcomes will be documented or assessed.

Program Evaluation Participant reactions to the program Participant learning from the program Organization support and change Participant use of new knowledge & skill Results: student learning outcomes.

Local District’s Role Develop, write and implement CSPD plan including needs assessment, data analysis, evaluation and documentation. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop Long Term CSPD Goals & Annual Goals based upon current status and data analysis. Provide SETRC with updated and revised CSPD plans and matrix.

SETRC’s Role Provide overview information on CSPD process Assist with development of CSPD plan Provide in-district staff development based upon identified CSPD goals. Coordinate regional trainings based on input from district CSPD plans. Provide information on consultants and other training opportunities.
