Montana Office of Public Instruction Linda McCulloch Superintendent www.opi.mt.gov Purpose of Student Information System To improve the collection, availability and use of high-quality education data To track students’ academic progress over time To reduce burden upon OPI, schools and districts, while increasing the value of the data systems To provide tools for interactive querying and reporting of data to enable data to drive education policies and practices Source of student counts for funding of K-12 public education
