INTRODUCCIÓN The objective of the lesson is to show the background in which the epistle to the Romans was written

I. MARCO HISTÓRICO From Corinth, on his third missionary trip he wrote the letters to the Romans. Acts 20:1–3. Some scholars set this around 57 A.D.

I. MARCO HISTÓRICO Paul was about to go to Jerusalem when he wrote this epistle, he carried offerings he had collected from the churches in Macedonia and Achaia. Romans 15:25-26

I. MARCO HISTÓRICO “ Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named...” Romans 15:20

I. MARCO HISTÓRICO “Purpose” Paul wanted to visit the church in Rome to strengthen the work there and introduce Christianity to Spain.

II. MARCO SOCIAL “ When we got to Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself, with a soldier to guard him. ” Acts 28:16)

II. MARCO SOCIAL “Guarded” In Jerusalem Paul was arrested, three years after he reached Rome in chains. Acts 28:20

“ Your Faith” Expresses the broadest sense of loyalty, the new style of life which had been discovered in Christ

II. MARCO SOCIAL “World” His loyalty was known in the Roman world known at that time. And fervent in Rome it was a strong and passionate Church.

II. MARCO SOCIAL I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another. Romans 15:14

II. MARCO SOCIAL "Full of goodness" Is righteousness in the heart and life, and motives in behavior.

II. MARCO SOCIAL "Knowledge" It is the knowledge of the spiritual truth held by those that were strong in the faith. 1Cor. 8:1, 7, 10-11

II. MARCO SOCIAL “Exhortation” Trained also to encourage/exhort, were willing to be encouraged and be exhorted.

CONCLUSION Paul had an objective: to preach in new places. Wrote announcing his visits and his hope to preach in Spain
