Connect: On 9 th November 1918, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Emperor of Germany, abdicated. He realised he could no longer rule Germany having lost the First World War. This left a power vacuum, which meant that no one had effective control of the country. The socialists, led by Friedrich Ebert formed a temporary government, but other groups had ideas about the future of Germany…
