A complete Works Cited page should look like this: Works Cited Franklin, Benjamin. The Autobiography and Other Writings. Ed. Kenneth Silverman. New York: Penguin, 1986. Print. Harrison, Patricia. Personal Interview. 19 Feb. 1993. Pipher, Mary. Conflicting Demands on Teenage Girls. New York: Random House, 1994. Print. ---. Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls. New York: Random House, 2000. Print. “The Time Boat.” World Travels. 9th ed. New York: Times, 2002. Print.

How to format your title: Title your page Works Cited. Not “Bibliography.” Center the title. Typically, start the title on the top line of the page (using one-inch margins all around), but for this assignment, you will include an MLA heading in the top left corner. Works Cited Franklin, Benjamin. The Autobiography and Other Writings. Ed. Kenneth Silverman. New York: Penguin, 1986. Harrison, Patricia. Personal Interview. 19 Feb. 1993. Pipher, Mary. Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls. New York: Random House, 1994.

How to format each entry: Double-space the entire page. Add no extra spaces anywhere. The first line of each entry should be flush to the left-hand margin (still one- inch). The next line(s) should be indented. This is called hanging indentation. Works Cited Franklin, Benjamin. The Autobiography and Other Writings. Ed. Kenneth Silverman. New York: Penguin, 1986. Pipher, Mary. Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls. New York: Random House, 1994. “Time Travel.” World Encyclopedia. 9th ed. New York: Times, 1992. Works Cited Franklin, Benjamin. How to format all the entries: Alphabetize the entries according to the first word in each entry. Articles “a,” “an” and “the” do not count for alphabetizing. Works Cited Franklin, Benjamin. The Autobiography and Other Writings. Ed. Kenneth Silverman. New York: Penguin, 1986. Harrison, Patricia. Personal Interview. 19 Feb. 1993. Pipher, Mary. Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls. New York: Random House, 1994. “The Time Boat.” World Traveling. 9th ed. Chino: Times, 1992.

Don’t forget to put your MLA four part heading in the top left corner. Remember that all work must be paraphrased. You need to cite your information with parenthetical citations. Ex. Telemachos is the son of Odysseus (Walters). If the information all comes from one source, you may put the citation at the end of the last paraphrase.
