Sound Monitor KS2: Design, write and debug programs which control physical systems.
2
●I can create a sound monitor in Scratch

Sound wave 100101100 101011000 101001011 110010101 011001010 010001101 010101010 101101111 010101010 101101111 010101 Microphone Computer 0110 The microphone system changes the sound wave into digital data (a series of 0s and 1s). This process is called digitisation.

Sound monitor design ●Task: In pairs you have 5 minutes to create a design for your sound monitor. ●Your design should include: ○A sketch showing what you will use and what will happen when the volume changes. ○An algorithm describing how your sound monitor will work. ○Commands you think you might need in Scratch. Example sound monitor design
5
Programming your sound monitor ●Task: You have 20 minutes to write the program for your sound monitor. ●Remember to regularly test and debug your program. ○Identify what the program should do. ○Observe what the the program does do. ○Use your knowledge of the Scratch commands to work out where it went wrong. ○Fix it.
6
●I can write a control program ●I can create a control system Today we have been learning about: Control, inputs and outputs
7
Control systems ●How many control systems can you think of in the world around you? ●What is the input? ●What is the output?
