Keyes- COS Monthly 15-Sep-99 COS Monthly Status Review v Calibration Working Group will be established in October – initial task: define FITS header keywords (COS IDT deliverable by 1 Mar 2000) v COWG met twice to discuss FUV detector turn-on and operating requirements – single-segment operation science scenarios – transition time and transition frequency issues

Keyes- COS Monthly 15-Sep-99 COS Monthly Status Review v Schedule for STScI ground system development has been defined – development will occur in three phases beginning 1 Jan 2000 and ending 1 Jul 2001 – content of phases has been discussed with COS IDT – COS development will benefit significantly from lessons learned in STIS effort (e.g., BOP and auto wavecals) – sections of OP-01 relevant to Phase I capabilities will be finalized by COS IDT by 1 Jan 2000 – coordination of content of STScI ground system builds with COS FSW builds has been discussed
