Hampton Court In 1514 in the village of Hampton, Thomas Wolsey, Archbishop of York, began building a magnificent palace on the north bank of the River Thames. WOW FACT: There is no same chimney at Hampton Court!

Hampton Court Henry VIII received the palace from Wolsey in the mid to late 1520’s, although the archbishop kept apartments there, as well as all the other royal palaces until he fell from favour and was arrested. WOW FACT: The largest room in the palace Is the great hall measuring 160 feet long!

Food in Hampton Court Rich people had a wide variety of meat and game including what they hunted:- deer, boar, rabbit, quail, bustard, curlew, plover, cormorant, badger, hedgehog, heron, crane, phesant, woodcock, partridge, blackbirds.

Queen Elizabeth Queen of England and Ireland, born on Sunday the 7 th of September 1533, and like all the Tudors except Henry VII, at greengage palace. WOW FACT: Elizabeth had 3,000 dresses left in her Wardrobe when she died!
