Music Video Analysis She Wolf (falling to pieces) by David Guetta ft Sia

Opening Verse She is started off naked in the video on the edge of a cliff and from this we can tell that she is the main highleted character in the video. This doesn’t seem clear as it’s a confusing opening to a video The camera is then show to be running which in a few seconds showd you a few close ups of a wolf running in which she sings “You hunted me down Like a wolf, a predator I felt like a deer in love lights” to show this is a love song about a break up.

chorus “You loved me and I froze in time Hungry for that flesh of mine But I can't compete with a she wolf who has brought me to my knees What do you see in those yellow eyes Cause I'm falling to pieces” A shot in the dark is emphasised by the wolf running in the dark with an injury to it maybe to show how in a relationship finding out secrets with ought the other person knowing is like a shot to you injuring your trust and how you think of the person. when she sings about the yellow eyes the wolf in the video has its edited to show how when the hunters are facing it to kill it what can they see in the yellow eyes and when the final line of the chorus is sung that shes falling to pieces the earth around her shattered and becomes unequal maybe to show when you break up everything seems to be crumbling around you.

2 nd verse “Did she lie in in wait Was I bait to pull you in The thrill of the kill You feel, is a sin I lay with the wolves, alone it seems I thought I was part of you” Here during the video the wolf is running away from the predators maybe these represent a partner who is trying to win her back, when she sings the thrill of a kill the wolf is showed to be injured from the hunters but to represent the hurt of someone cheating on you in a relationship. When the wolf approaches the cliff at the end of the video it slowly transforms into Sia the woman who started the video at the edge of the cliff this is to show and emphasise how the hunters have been physically hurting her as the wolf is injured in the video but at the end there is no physical harm to her maybe to show about the emotional damage of am relationship as well.

Conclusion This video represents the hardship and pain and hurt of a relationship that has been shattered by the other person hurting the other partner and how one is falling to pieces and everything they know comes crumbling down around them.

1980’s Dance Music Electronic dance music (EDM) is electronic music produced primarily for the purposes of use within a nightclub setting, or in an environment that is centred upon dance-based entertainment. The music is largely created for use by disc jockeys and is produced with the intention of it being heard in the context of a continuous DJ set; wherein the DJ progresses from one record to the next via a synchronized segue or "mix". The term emerged in America in the late 1990s and describes a set of percussive music genres that largely stem from the production methods of disco music, techno music, house music, and trance music. Such music was popularized via regional nightclub scenes in the 1980s, the warehouse party scene of the late 1980s, and the early rave scene of the acid house movement in the late 1980s. The 80’s was a very electronically synthesised age of music where mostly synth leads and electronic instruments ruled the music scene.

1990’s Dance music This was the era of the Warehouse Rave’s and Houseparty scene which developed into the “House”genre, where Electronic Djs such as Chase and Status and many unknown artists where just starting to make a name for themselves and come out on the scene. The software and hardware was now more sophisticated allowing them to produce more sounds better quality music but still very electronically dominated genre of music.

2000’s Music now was a lot faster louder and more complex as technology had vastly improved allowing heavier Baseline's in songs to be carried out, and also allowing more technical and unique sounds to be created now that technology had such a vast range of sounds now to access. Music quailty was also greatly improved with better recording equipment and better speakers allowing for more clarity and bass. This was also the birth of Dubstep a urban sound very “dirty” sounding heavy drops and a bpm of 140 revolutionising how to manipulate music

2010’s This era is nearly a complete Electrical musical decade as the main genres consist of Dubstep, Drumstep, Electro Dance Music a music scene that is obsessed with heavy bass and very few instruments.
