Summary The book The Dream is a autobiography of a Indian American Entrepreneur. Gurbaksh Chahal was born on July 17,1982 in Tarn Taran, India. Gurbaksh Chahal is a sibling of 4 children. He was born in a traditional Sikh family. His parents are Avtar Singh and Arjinder Chahal.

Young Childhood Gurbaksh Chahal was born in India but immigrated to India in 1985. He was bullied a lot because of the turban he wore In his younger years before school he would stay at home with his grandmother.

Family In 1985, his parents received a visa for America through the Diversity Visa (DV) program, also known as the Green Card Lottery. His family settled in San Jose, California. He had 4 siblings: Kamal Chahal, Nirmal Chahal, and Taj Chahal. His Grandmother was Surjit Kaur.

School Gurbaksh was bullied at school a lot and never made to many friends. He was always told to get good grades. He dropped out of high school at the age 16 to follow his dream.

Religion Gurbaksh’s religion was Sikhism. His family was very religious and went Gurdwara(church) every Sunday. Gurbaksh was teased and bullied about his religious turban. At a young age once, he was forced with a knife to take his turban off.
