Looking Back… Look at the poem “Is Traffic Jam Delectable?” Working in partners, mark the use of hyperbole by the author. Next discuss how hyperbole creates a humorous effect in the text. We will share these thoughts in 5 minutes. Be sure to take notes in the “My notes” section on the poem.

For Your Portfolio… On your own paper, create an anecdote or poem using at least 3 instances of wordplay (hyperbole, puns, one-liners) to create humor. Select one example of word-play and create an illustration to accompany your poem.
