2 ATIS Board of Directors’ Meeting October 20, 2011 PSRA RFI Discussion October 29, 2014 PSRA “RFI” concept Develop an “RFI” (questionnaire) type document based on information developed by PSRA-TF and gathered through industry outreach to associations –Provide a set of public safety applications presented in an architectural model format –Provide associated list of requirements and/or characteristics –Request proposed solutions Solutions targeted to specific applications Comprehensive solutions across range of applications –Communicate goal to share results (via Report) to support the transition to new IP-based media 2

3 ATIS Board of Directors’ Meeting October 20, 2011 PSRA RFI Discussion October 29, 2014 Next Steps (to be discussed) Agree on the core set of applications and develop the technical aspects of each model Develop the associated RFI language describing objectives and use of the information that is being solicited through this process Agree on target timeframe for issuance and response Agree on the means to transmit the RFI and which segments of the industry should receive the request Plan to synthesize RFI with ATIS public notice announcement to maximize visibility Other issues? 3

4 ATIS Board of Directors’ Meeting October 20, 2011 PSRA RFI Discussion October 29, 2014 Proposed list of Applications The following list of applications is proposed to begin development of RFI “models” – Alarm circuits to fire and police (including buildings, campuses, elevators) – Circuits that monitor railroad crossings and other transit systems – Circuits that monitor sensors at gas and power company locations – Meter and alarming circuits related to power grid – Circuits supporting underground communications related to transportation systems – FAA circuits to towers and alarms – Paging circuits and automatic ringdown circuits to EMS, fire, police 4
