3 THE NEW PROGRAMME  GRANTS  Themed grants over 3 years  Offered to 12 organisations  Awarded a total of about £800,000 grants  Partnership with Esmee Fairbairn  EXTENDED DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES  Developing capacity for effectiveness  Training  Networking and solidarity  Connecting local experiences to national policy  CONTINUOUS LEARNING  Formal evaluation process  Ongoing opportunities for reflection

4 A FLAVOUR OF WHAT GRANTEES WILL DO  Campaign for better policies and practices  Provide scrutiny and accountability  Research  Promote grassroots activism  Inform and train  Policy advocacy  Change public perception  Challenge discrimination and injustices  Engage decision makers and media

5 JRCT'S VISION Empower communities in West Yorkshire disadvantaged by racial injustice to address the structural causes of racial injustices - and make sure that decision makers hear and pay attention to their experiences.

7 WHAT DO WE WANT TO ACHIEVE A stronger BME VCS A more grown up/ equal relationship between BME communities and public bodies/ decision makers More engaged/ stronger BME voice in policy and practice Improved availability and flow of robust information to inform decisions affecting BME communities Better access to services for BME communities Policies that address the structural causes of inequalities More collective action and solidarity around tackling race inequalities
