10  Does Kobe want to be like Mike? It sure looks like it, but then again, these comparisons between Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan are never new. Bryant holds Jordan in high esteem for how many championships he's won, how he scored at a prolific rate, how he maintained his competitive edge and how he embraced new challenges. The Lakers' star has admitted he uses Jordan's six titles as a barometer. Considering he has five rings himself, Bryant's not far off. Phil Jackson, who coached Jordan and Bryant, once said the Lakers' star is highly motivated to surpass Jordan's third- place mark on the NBA's all-time scoring list (32,292)

18  By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. Although, a summary of his basketball career and influence on the game inevitably fails to do it justice, as a phenomenal athlete with a unique combination of fundamental soundness, grace, speed, power, artistry, improvisational ability and an unquenchable competitive desire, Jordan single-handedly redefined the NBA superstar

24  Michael Jordan‘s penchant for gambling is no secret. He was once spotted at an Atlantic City casino, reportedly at 2:30 am, before a playoff game: though Jordan and the Bulls lost to the New York Knicks the next night – and Jordan insisted he was in bed by 1 a.m. – they won the series, of course. At the Barcelona Olympics, Jordan would stay up until 5 am playing cards with Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson, as the new NBA TV documentary, and Jack McCallum’s excellent book about the 1992 Dream Team, points out. You can bet they weren’t playing for pennies.
