Environmental Requirements for Delivery, Storage, Handing, & Installation Acoustical metal pans, suspension system components, and accessories should be delivered to the project site in their original, unopened packages Spaces that receive the ceilings shall be free of dust and debris as well as provide proper protection All components should be stored in a dry interior location and keep fully enclosed in their cartons prior to installation The ceilings must be installed in enclosed and weather tight conditions where temperatures are between 32 o F (0°C) and 120°F (49°C) ACOUSTICAL METAL PAN CEILINGS I.Type II.Components 1.Acoustical Metal Ceiling Pans 2.Suspension Systems III.Location IV.Environmental Requirements for Delivery, Storage, Handling, & Installation V.Installation VI.Detailed Cost of Materials VII.Detailed Cost of Labor to Install Materials VIII.Warrantee/Guarantee

Installation 1. Suspend ceiling hangers from building’s structural members 1.Install hangers plumb and free from contact with insulation or other objects 2.Secure wire hangers to ceiling suspension members and to supports above with at least three tight turns 3.Connect wire hangers directly to structures or to inserts, eye screws, or other devices that are secure and durable 4.Secure the remaining flat, angle, channel, and rod hangers to the structure 1.Space hangers are not more than 1200 mm along each member 2.Space hangers are not more than 200 mm from ends of each member 3.Do not support the ceilings directly from permanent metal forms or floor deck 4.Do not attach hangers to steel deck tables or steel roof decks (only attach hangers to structural members) ACOUSTICAL METAL PAN CEILINGS I.Type II.Components 1.Acoustical Metal Ceiling Pans 2.Suspension Systems III.Location IV.Environmental Requirements for Delivery, Storage, Handling, & Installation V.Installation VI.Detailed Cost of Materials VII.Detailed Cost of Labor to Install Materials VIII.Warrantee/Guarantee

Installation 2. Install edge moldings and trim of type indicated at perimeter of the acoustical ceiling area and where necessary to conceal the edges of the acoustical metal pans 1.Apply acoustical sealant in a continuous ribbon concealed on back of vertical legs of moldings 2.Screw attach moldings to substrate at intervals no more than 400 mm and no more than 75 mm from the ends 3.Both should be leveled with ceiling suspension system to a tolerance of 3.2 mm in 3.6 m 4.Do not use exposed fasteners on moldings and trim 3. Install suspension system runners so they are square and securely interlocked with one another- remove and replace any dented, bent, or kinked members 4. Cut acoustical metal pan units for accurate fit at the borders, interruptions, and penetrations by other work through the ceilings 5. Stiffen edges of cut units as required to eliminate evidence of buckling or variations in flatness 6.
