2. Who were craftsmen? They made things people needed Shoemakers, tailors, blacksmiths, bakers, carpenters Anything that it took skill to do! Every craftsman had to belong to a guild i.e. A baker’s guild, a butcher’s guild

3. What was a guild? A group that controlled the trade They set examinations to ensure the craftsmen were skilled Ensured all products were high quality Set fair wages and prices Looked after old or sick members and their family Set up schools for children of members
