Cartoons are excellent connectors They may also be used for open entries— just make sure the text covers an important event or scene.

These work well from the point of view of the main character (s) The design features drawings, doodles, etc. give the entry a realistic feel.

The question and answer format would also work well from the main character (s) point of view. The design features colours, floating question marks, highway/coastline border, trees and birds make the entry seem more real.
