Community Service Counts! Sarah Lovett
2
Community Service is Important Community service is a way to give back to our community. It is our responsibility to give a hand and help others by doing good deeds. It is very important for young people to develop a habit of performing community service, which could help them develop civic responsibility. It helps to develop well rounded adults.

1,000,000,000 sandwiches later……… Once a year Temple Israel sales corned beef sandwiches to raise money for upkeep, and makes a large donation to LAMP (Lowndes Associated Ministries to People). Over 4,500 sandwiches were sold this year at $10 a plate.

Every one is involved!!
6
I have been doing the fund raiser for five years now. The experience is so much fun and the outcome is always overwhelming.

S. L. Mason Reading with Elementary School Children to help improve skills, and promote a positive influence. A “cool” big kid to help encourage the kids to be excited about school. Bright kids that need an extra push.
9
My Experience Working with the children was one of my favorite projects. They are so fun, and they learn very quickly. I worked with children that had problems with reading. They are smart kids that are not getting encouragement from their families.
10
Samaritan's purse - operation Christmas child Christmas boxes for underprivileged children of all ages. I chose one boy and one girl.
11
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes. Last year over 7.6 million shoe box gifts were collected world wide and distributed to children in over 95 countries.
12
Spreading Joy The boxes were fun to make. I enjoyed picking out toys that I knew would make someone, somewhere happy. I also put things in my box like underwear, and socks that could be needed. This was a very fulfilling project.
13
The Goodwill Last year, more than 58 million people donated to Goodwill. Goodwill accepts your new or gently used items — like clothing, appliances and furniture — and sells them in our well- known Goodwill retail stores. There are more than 3,300 Goodwill donations locations in North America.
14
My Donation… I donated some clothes that were in good condition. I plan on donating some used appliances such as a coffee maker, and an old television as soon as it is made possible. I also plan on volunteering in the retail store in the near future.
15
Goodwill….Good Habit Donating to the Goodwill is something I have done for years. My mother has always donated clothes and has passed the habit on to me. Why throw away useful things when they can help others?
