2. America The war cost $120 billion, more than education and healthcare combined. 700,000 veterans suffered from psychological disorders since their return. More veterans committed suicide than were killed in Vietnam.

3. Vietnam 2 million people were killed. 7 million tones of bombs were dropped on North Vietnam. Large areas of forest were destroyed. Vietnam was reduced from a major rice exporter to an unsustainable country. 2 million people fled from Vietnam to escape famine and a Communist government. Many mines and booby traps were left after the war. People continued to suffer from effects of chemicals and defoliants.
