3 Nehemiah—Marks of a Servant Leader. Neh 4 Our Lord does not call the qualified but qualifies the called. — Matt Sistrunk The Lord is qualifying Nehemiah. Whenever and wherever the welfare of the Lord’s people is being attended to there will be opposition.

4 Nehemiah—Marks of a Servant Leader. Neh 4 I. Mocking (4:1,2) and Ridcule(4:3) Response: prayer –we prayed (4:4,5) Prayer builds faith and trust in our Lord Response: continued in His work.

5 Nehemiah—Marks of a Servant Leader. Neh 4 II. Menacing: from the outside (4:11) threat to life from within (4:10) discouragement & a loss of perspective from God to self. Fear: paralyzes self — Matt 8:26 Is contagious and paralyzes others (Deut 20:8)

6 Nehemiah—Marks of a Servant Leader. Neh 4 Response: 4:14—when I (Nehemiah) saw their fear… Raised up vision again—midway points in projects is where discouragement grows. 4:14,15 — Remember and Realize. 4:19,20 — Vision and Reliance.

7 Application Nehemiah—Marks of a Servant Leader. Neh 2 The Lord does not call the qualified but qualifies the called. Remember and realize that whenever and wherever the people of God are being cared for there will be opposition. Respond with prayer and keep the vision.
