How fit are you? Learning Objectives: * To consider different ways of measuring fitness. * To collect measurements and calculate your own BMI. * To use the Wii to calculate one pupils’ BMI. * To find out your heart rate and measure how it alters as a result of exercise.

How can we measure fitness? How can we use our heart rate as a measure of fitness? Resting pulse rate = Pulse rate after exercise –1 min –2 mins –3 mins

How can we measure fitness? What is your BMI and why is it important? Body/Mass index. It compares your height and mass. Your BMI should be in the range of 20 – 30. If you have a BMI of below 18.5 or greater than 35 then you may have serious health problems
