Banana Crumb Muffins Ingredients 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 bananas, mashed 3/4 cup white sugar 1 egg, lightly beaten 1/3 cup butter, melted 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon butter Directions Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers. In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle topping over muffins. Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean. Original Recipe Yield 10 muffins Activity Instructions Copy the recipe. You only have 2 muffin tins. One that makes 6 muffins or one that makes 12 muffins. Recalculate the ingredient amounts so that you make exactly 6 muffins. Recalculate the ingredient amounts so that you make exactly 12 muffins. Recalculate the ingredient amounts so that you use both tins and make 18 muffins.

If you don’t finish the test today you MUST turn in the test so I can grade the completed part – otherwise you will have to restart the entire test tomorrow. Thursday, Jan. 19 th 3 rd, 4 th, 5 th, & 6 th Please have your formula sheet, 2 sharpened pencils, an extra piece of paper, and your math notebook. NO MATH MINUTE. We are finishing the test today. Your tests are in your folder. Please get it and begin work immediately. There is only 26 minutes in class. Don’t spend time looking at what is marked wrong – you need to finish the test today. If you finish the test early, then you may do your Math Minute (you may finish the packet if you have time). Otherwise, complete your Math Minute at home tonight. If you have already completed the test and it has a grade on top-please keep it in your folder for tomorrow. Everyone will be given a chance during class on Friday to Re-do as many problems as they can for half- credit. If you are done with everything, please bring me your gradesheet and your notebook to check. Extra Credit problems (5 points) due today. Friday, Jan. 20 th 3 rd, 4 th, 5 th, & 6 th Please have your formula sheet, 2 sharpened pencils, an extra piece of paper, and your math notebook. Today is the last day of the quarter. Everything must be turned in including the last Math Minute packet (#55-58) Everything that was turned in has been graded and returned. Check to make sure you have everything! You are going to have the chance to re-do missed problems on Test #4. You must follow the direction on the board to receive credit for the corrected problems. Have your gradesheet and notebook on your desk so I can do the gradesheet and notebook check while you are working on your test questions. Get your test from your folder and begin work immediately. Have a nice LONG weekend!
