2. Claim: Media impacts the LGBT community positively and negatively.

3. What do you often see when LGBT people are portrayed through the media?

5. Stereotypical depictions and common archetypes: usually male, and white representation. 1.Feminine (gay) 2.Hyper sexual 3.Masculine (lesbian) 4. Almost perfect like: extremely clean, cultured, fashionable etc… 5. Masculine = dominant & Feminine = submissive There is a lack of queer POC represented in the media. *Feminine attributes isn’t necessarily a negative thing… BUT

6. We are humans! Stop generalizing an extremely diverse population. Why is this problematic?

7. Medias benefit to the LGBT community. -Self expression through blogging, vlogging. -Connects the community -Social activism/ movements -normalization through more exposure
