3 FLHS Science, Technology Education & Engineering Program What Science Class Can You Take In High School?  The science class you take in grade 9 depends on how well you do in grade 8 in math and science.  Standardized test scores are only con- sidered on an as needed basis. Question 1

4 How is your placement determined?  Mid-Year Grades in math & science are analyzed.  Final Grades are reviewed again. Keep your grades up all year. If you improve, speak to your counselor so your placement may be changed if there is still room in the class. FLHS Science Program Questions 2-4

5 FLHS Science Program Freshman Year – Science Pre-Requisites 2014-2015 Please note that these are subject to change. Grade 9 Science Grade 8 Science Grade 8 Math Biology Honors Science 8 (A) or Science 8E (B-) Alg. 1 (B-) Algebra 2 in Grade 9 Physics 9 College Prep Science 8 (B) or Science 8E Completed Pre-Alg (B) or Alg. 1 (B-) Environmental Science College Prep Successful Completion of Any Grade 8 Science No Math Pre-Requisite Environmental Science Academic Completion of Any Grade 8 Science & CTP4 Scores No Math Pre-Requisite

Biology Chemistry or Physics or Environmental Science Another Lab Science  Most colleges require 3 Years of Science.  Some colleges suggest 4 Years of Science.  A Biology Course Competency Exam is Required for Graduation Questions 5-7
