Research Homework-Chose 1 or 2 Homework 1- Use the internet to find out about the differences between the NUWSS (Suffragists) and WSPU (Suffragettes)- looking at aims/methods and examples of action they were involved in Ensure you research the following: 1.When they were formed and why 2.How did they campaign for the vote (methods) 3.Examples of success 4.Limitations of their actions 5.Case studies- (examples of suffragists/ suffragettes and events, e.g. Emily Davison and Epsom 1913 * Use the internet to research and take notes for this project

Homework 2- Time-travellers wife Briefing Imagine you have met a friend who has travelled back in time to 1860 to find a husband and start a family. Your task Create a guide for her on how to be the ideal Victorian wife. Include what’s expected of a good wife. What can be expected from your husband. How to behave, info on working and explain why it’s important to behave appropriately. Ensure you include the following: 1.The ‘angel in the house’ image’. 2.The concept of ‘separate spheres’. 3.The nature of female employment (middle and working class). 4.What was the legal position of women? (property/Divorce) Where possible you must use historical quotations to support your notes. * Use the internet to research and take notes for this project
