2. My Interview The purpose of this project is to interview Ruth Gasson. My interview will be soft and will aim to inform the audience of her achievement and give her the opportunity to promote and future projects that she is apart of.

3. Existing Interviews Greg James interviewing Anna Kendrick This was an interview on BBC Radio 1. The style was very informal and soft, purely for entertainment purposes and to promote her new film “Pitch Perfect 2.” The two also spoke about all of the height jokes in the film, and this was something that Anna found funny and was up for laughing about with Gregg. Both Anna and Gregg approached this interview in a informal way and treated it more as a conversation between friends rather than a professional interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8G3YNv-5ec

4. Greg James and Anna Kendrick Greg got Anna to participate in the game “Tiny celebs” where the two used the radio equipment to alter their voices whilst they pretended to ride Rihanna’s dress. He did this as the ‘Tiny Celebs’ filler is part of his show’s format. It also is designed to make the guests feel more comfortable which help to add to the soft format of his interview and radio show, whilst providing entertainment for his audience of people aged 15- 24.

5. Existing Interviews Rock Forever interviewing Dan and Phil This was an interview posted on the magazine’s YouTube channel. The style was soft and informal and designed to inform viewers of their time at Playlist Live. Dan, Phil and the interviewer all seem very nervous for this interview as it is unexplored territory. 6. Rock Forever and Dan and Phill Both Dan and Phil looked very awkward being interviewed as they are used to talking to a camera rather than to other people, this then impacts the uintervier negatively as she is trying to make them feel as comfortable as possible, whilst trying to do her job. As Rock forever magazine only usually interviews people who are in the rock music industry, the questions will have been altered so they are relative to Dan and Phil. This means that the interviewer is also unused to the situation and it shows as she appears nervous throughout. Dan and Phil respond with a lot of one worded answers that will make it difficult for the interviewer to expand on.

7. Existing Interviews Russell Brand interviewing Ed Miliband This was an interview on Russell Brand’s YouTube channel. The style was very informal and hard. 8. Russell Brand and Ed Miliband This interview was part of Rusell’s Youtube series ‘The trews’ where he interviewed the leaders of each political party, in the run up for the election. Rusell was quite biased and his questions and body language where designed to intimidate Ed. Whilst Ed was relaxed as he is used to this style of interview environment.

9. Question Types There are two different types of questions that can be asked by interviewers; open and closed. Closed questions result in yes/ no answers that make it very difficult to elaborate on, into a conversation. Open questions are the best questions for an interview as they expand what the guest is saying and gives a more personal answer. They also make the interview more exciting to listen to as they let more information be shared with the listeners. For example, “ So what have you got planned next?” allows the guest to promote themselves, which will appeal to fans.
