4. WHAT IS A DEMONSTRATIVE SPEECH  A “HOW TO” speech walks the audience through a process of steps to a clear goal  We do these speeches because it is important for your future success to be able to explain processes thoroughly in an organized way

5. ASSIGNMENT DUE 10/20  For this assignment, you will demonstrate for the audience “how to” do something.  This speech requires a Visual Aid  Speeches should AT LEAST 3 minutes long but anywhere from 3-5 minutes is fine.  Speech should have a MINIMUM OF 5 STEPS  Some examples are How to make a sandwich How to tie shoes How to post a picture on Instagram

VISUAL AIDS  What is a visual aid?  an item of illustrative matter, such as a film, slide, or model, picture or poster, designed to supplement written or spoken information so that it can be understood more easily.  You have 3 options for this project: 1. Bring in the actual objects and demonstrate 2. Bring in a poster with photo aids that demonstrate 3. make a powerpoint*special rules apply
