3 Requisites of a good measure of central tendency 1. It should be easy to calculate and understand. 2. It should be rigidly defined. 3. It should be representative of the data. 4. It should have sampling stability. 5. It should not be affected by extreme values.

4 Which measure is appropriate? A person who does not know how to swim has to cross a river from one bank to another by walking into the water with a stick.
