2 Critical Race Theory political and intellectual movement seeks to theorize and challenge racism and structural inequality originally developed in the 1970s to examine how racial inequalities were perpetuated and maintained in American legal system, now applied more broadly based on the understanding that race and racism are the product of social thought and power relations
