4 King James’ Bible  Was published in 1611  Was translated at the request of the king  John Reynolds suggested a new translation of the Bible at a 1604 Conference of Bishops and Theologians at Hampton Court

5 The Creation of the Bible  From 1605-1606 the scholars engaged in Private research  From 1607 -1609 the work was assembled  In 1610 the work went to press  In 1611 ‘The King James’ Bible’ came off the printing press

6 Translators  Were the best linguists and scholars of that time  54 were chosen, but only 47 finished the 7- year project  Took into consideration: Tyndale New Testament, The Coverdale Bible, The Matthews Bible, The Great Bible, The Geneva Bible, and even the Rheims New Testament.  translators had to give diligent attention to the rhythm and punctuation
