3.  Aberdeen Proving Ground now considered a megabase by DoD leaders and it may grow more –Pre-BRAC: $1.8 billion economic impact –Post-BRAC: $6.5 billion economic impact (some estimates show growth to $20 billion)  APG is research and development ‘center of gravity’ for Army with a higher educated and more affluent workforce  Area around APG changing dramatically and quickly Enormous Regional Changes

4. A Destination Employment Center  Recent decades – Harford a “bedroom” community  In 2006, approximately 50 percent of Harford County workforce commuted out of the county (2006 Towson University-RESI Study)  Post-BRAC: Reverse commuting patterns  Estimated 30,000 additional workers in region  The next generation will have an unprecedented opportunity to work in this community

5.  Support STEM/higher education initiatives –Technology Showcase –Futures 11  Continue to advocate for critical infrastructure items  Maintain open dialogue with APG Leadership  Carry the message to Annapolis and Washington –Testimony to Maryland Legislature Joint BRAC Committee –Meet with state and federal legislators –Provide information papers Our Action
