It also builds a foundation for subsequent exercise courses, which provide the specifics of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and the National Standard Exercise Curriculum (NSEC).

Exercise Scope

Copyright - Disaster Resistant Communities Group – www.drc-group.com It is late January and the severe weather associated with a cold front moving through the region prompts the Tallahassee Forecast Office of the National Weather Services to issue a Tornado Watch for North Florida from 7:35AM until 1:00PM. At 9:17AM, meteorologists at the National Weather Service notice what appears to be the formation of a tornado on their doppler weather radar. They immediately issue a Tornado Warning. Over the next several hours, numerous Tornado Warnings are issued throughout the area. Exercise Scenario

In addition the exercise will increase the level of collaboration between individual schools and the district’s Safety, Security and Emergency Management Department. Exercise Purpose

This exercise is designed to engage them in a significant tornado occurrence requiring on-site protective actions and response activities. Exercise Summary
