Objective: Students will change units within the metric system (4-9).

Steps: Read all directions!!! Write the problem. Look at both the problem and chart. You are moving from what you know to what you need to know by using the chart. The # of spaces you move will equal the # of times you move the decimal.

Steps Con’t. You will move the decimal to the right or left. Move the decimal to the left if you are going from smaller to larger. Move the decimal to the right if you are going from larger to smaller.

Note: All you are doing is moving the decimal. However, you must learn the rules in order to know if you move the decimal to the right or left. You must learn how to use the chart. The chart will NOT be provided for you on the test. Practice with it and learn it!!!!!
