12 Conjunctions Identify the conjunctions in the sentences below.
This is Joyce who was born in 1934 before the Second World War. She lived on a farm. 1. During the war, an evacuee called Jack came to live with us. His parents sent him to the countryside because the city was badly bombed. 2. A lot of jobs on the farms were done by women who worked for the Women's Land Army. 3. There were no electric lights in our house. We used oil lamps in the evenings and went to bed by candle light. 4. Most people did not have toilets or bathrooms inside their houses. We washed at the kitchen sink and had a bath in the kitchen too! 5. Mum always did the washing on a Monday. There were no washing machines, so everything had to be washed by hand. 6. Everyone had a ration book which said how much food they could buy. Although food was rationed, my family were lucky because we could get food from our farm. 7. Since we didn't have a fridge or a freezer to keep food in, we kept it in a large cupboard called a pantry.
