3 Language Groups Your “Language Group” is your table group. You have an assigned group, but you do not have an assigned table. Your language activity will change daily and so will your group’s table. You and your group must tidy up your old table and setup your new one at the end of each day. 5 Guided Reading Today’s Task Quietly read the text provided for understanding (It’s a short story today) “Much Ado About the Canadian Flag” (p. 82) Think on it … Why was this text chosen? How does it relate to what we are learning about? When your group has read the text once Mr. W. will come over to start the guided reading session.

6 Independent Reading Choose a text you are interested in. Read the text for understanding. Summarize the text in your own words (6-8 sentences) Complete the “Try This” Activity.

7 Creative Writing Task – Continue your stories Make sure you have done a peer edit before beginning your second page. You cannot borrow from another table for the peer edit this time. You must take from your group. Do not start page 2 without an edit If you are onto to writing your second page you may continue and use all the time effectively. We wont stop for another peer edit until next week in your Creative Writing group.

9 Computers Task – Continue your Social Studies Inquiry on the Political Parties of Canada. Split your table into two groups and share an iPad. Everyone records their nuggets of information in their social studies workbooks. Your goal is to research all the parties, but the order does not matter.
