4. What About those round things? Globes! - A globe is a spherical model of the entire earth What Makes Them So Special? - globes can show us the ‘big picture’ of our planet – all the oceans and all the landmasses - globes also show us important lines like the Equator, the tropics, and longitude and latitude

5. Okay….whatever – how do I use them? In order to know how to correctly use a map, you need to know how to read its legend and its scale: Legend: a list of symbols that represent something on the map and their meaning Scale: the way to show distance on a map - since maps aren’t life sized, they need to shrink distances and by using a scale, you can still find out how far away something is
