2. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to announce these things to you in the churches. I am descended from the family of David; I am the bright morning star. What is a star? A star is a guide, a beacon, showing us the way to go, warning of hazards in the darkness. Revelation 22:16

3. Throughout human history to some a star is a light to guide their journey, to others a sign foretelling events on earth. 2,000 years ago the Bible tells us of a star that shed light on one of the most important events of all time. It is that star we follow on our journey to Christmas. What is a star?

4. On the Font remembering John the Baptist, the forerunner, the sign of Jesus to come Light two red candles Where is the star today?

5. Let us pray: We remember John the Baptist who came to show people the way to find God in Jesus. God we pray that you would guide us through Advent to see Jesus and know him as our Saviour. Amen A prayer
